23 competition records were set at the inter-school championships last weekend in the Jubile Stadium. This marks the first time the popular contest, which features high school student athletes competing for track and field supremacy, was staged at the stadium.
The stadium was constructed by Government as part of its programme to provide world-class facilities for local athletes to train and develop their skill to international levels. The first event to be staged at the Class 2 athletic stadium was the 37th Annual CARIFTA Games held last Easter. Since then, local and visiting athletes have made use of the facilities.
