The general public is invited to take part in activities in commemoration of Consumer Week 2009. The initial objective of the week is to educate and then encourage consumers to apply responsible shopping techniques.

Wed., March 18 ? Consumer Affairs featured on ?Hard Talk? (Sugar City Rock)
Thurs., March 19 ? ?Cost of Living? Panel Discussion at 7:00 pm at Challengers Community Centre
Fri., March 20 ? Consumer Awareness and Health Screening from 11:00 am in Independence Square
Sat., March 21 ? Consumers Health Walk 5:30 am from Molineaux

The Consumer Affairs Dept. has a new Director, Howard Richardson, who feels the Department is responsible for providing safe goods that are not a danger to the consumer, and are of high quality, as well as encouraging competitive pricing of goods.
