It's that time of year again to celebrate ?The Stars of Tomorrow Camp,? which is scheduled to begin July 16.This a joint venture between The Children's Dance Theater, Fireflies Dance School, CFBC Dance Ensemble and Pink Splash Media. The camp was created to give the youth an opportunity to explore their abilities in the performing arts. This encourages the established groups, and also it's steadily growing followers of young people within the country, to make a conscious effort to participate in dance and theater.
Julie Martin, founder of the Children's Dance Theater, said summer time was the best opportunity to host the camp. She said it was a period when children fought boredom and had most free time and that was why the groups decided to provide an avenue for young people to develop a love for arts while being trained to take on leading roles in other areas of performing. She also added, the participants would also play a big part in the designing of costumes which will be a valuable skill,and will allow the children to play an active part in this very special performance. She also went onto say,"We know that when schools and organizations have performances there is always a challenge in how to get costumes because of the cost attached to getting good ones," she said. "One of the things we will be doing at the camp is showing how you can utilize things around you to make beautiful and visually impactful costumes."
