A huge turnout was ensured when Horsford`s Department store held a Fathers Day Sale and Fair.
The event, which took place at the Horsford?s Building Center on Wellington Road, ran from 8:00 am. to 3:00 pm. and saw massive store-wide discounts of up to 30 percent as well as hourly prizes and giveaways to customers.
To offset the discounts offered, the Building Center also hosted a Men?s Health and Wellness Fair. The men, either before or after taking advantage of the discounts, were able to receive Blood Pressure and Diabetes checks free of charge; while counseling and educational material on prostrate problems and heart health were also offered.
The check-ups and counseling were done courtesy the International University of Nursing and the University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Even the women, who accompanied some of the men to the fair, took great interest in the educational literature as well as the free check-ups and they were encouraged to do so, and they too were able to take advantage of the offers. With every purchase made, customers received a free gift compliments of Horsford?s.
The event also took place in Nevis from 8:00 am. to 1:00 pm. at the Horsford?s Building Center, Stoney Grove. The fair on that end of the Federation was conducted by the Nurses of the Public Health Sector.
