Most senior Mothers on Nevis honored

An early Mothers Day present was the wonderful surprise for the most senior Mothers from the five parishes of Nevis. Friday May 9th saw the presentation of gifts to the grand, great grand, and indeed the great-great grandmothers all witnessed by their loving families and carers.

This was yet another programme initiated by the Gender Affairs Division of the Ministry of Social Development on Nevis. All of the mothers involved were each presented with a token from health adviser Mrs Patsy Handley who represented the Social Development Minister Hon. Hensley Daniel, who, was away on overseas business at the time of the presentation. Mrs Handly was also accompanied by Gender Affairs Officer Ms Olyn Kelly.

All of the recipients were very pleased to receive their gifts and praised the Lord, their families and the Ministry for their gifts. The happy mothers who received the gifts were as follows : Mrs Drew, Mrs Brandy (91 yrs old), Mrs Celina Ward (99 yrs old), Mrs Celian Powell and Mrs Pinney. The remainder were a little camera shy but thanked Mrs Handley and Ms Kelly privately.
