Labour teens attract hundreds in Basseterre mini-motorcade

The build up to the Miss Labor 2010/11 continued with a motorcade through the streets of Basseterre.
Hundreds of onlookers enjoyed the spectacle as the 8 teenagers in the mini-motorcade were driven around the route from Patsy Allers playing fields to Church St, and eventually ending up at Cayon St.
The contestants, 19 years old Davina Doras-Cranstoun, 18 years old Nakita James, 15 years old Crystal Boyles, 16 years old Zaiesha Josephs, 17 years old Jackiema Fleming, 14 years old Vekiech Connor, 16 years old Sheniqua Cannonier and 19 years old Zarema Pemberton, led by the reigning champions Miss Labor, Jannie Browne.
At the headquarters of the St Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labor Union, the girls met by the Prime Minister, the Hon Dr Denzil L Douglas, who offered his encouragement and congratulations.
The girls, representing their own communities on St Kitts, will appear in four different categories in their quest to become Miss Labor. These include, creative wear, performing talent, night wear and promotional speech. The girl who performs best in all the categories will Miss Labor 2011.
The spectators have a treat in store, as the finals supported by local talent Nicha B, Rolhensha, Jah fire and C-Money and headlined by The grand Masters.
