Nevis Names Deon Daniel as Man of the Year

The St. Kitts-Nevis Observer has named Deon Daniel it's Man of the Year. From growing up at Barnes Ghaut in very humble beginnings to being a leading real estate developer on Nevis, he credits that humble start as being the driving force of his ambition. ?I came from a very poor family,? he said. ?Sometimes the very basic things in life were difficult for us to get.?
Daniel is currently developing Phase II of Nelson Springs with 33 condos. He envisions including a park as a gift to the fishermen of Cotton Ground, with 3 gazebos, a storage area, and jetty. His hope is that the fishermen will have a clean place to sell their catch to the condo residents.
His story is both remarkable and inspirational, andhis advice to the youth of Nevis is straightforward and based on his own experience. ?Stop and look around at what a beautiful island we have. There are many opportunities that exist on the island, but it takes hard work. Leave the guns and drugs alone. I was no genius in school, just an average student, but
great things can be achieved through hard work. If I was able to do it coming from Barnes Ghaut from such a
poor family then anyone else can too, all it takes is determination,? said Mr. Daniel.
