The games started in 2000, hosted by Trinidad and Tobago, and has been held in several other countries over the years. The main highlight of the games is a Sports Day which features fun sports of various types but also includes some athletic events. The results of this day?s activities that determine the champion.
The general public is welcome on Games Day. Sunday April 4, at 10 a.m. It begins with a Street Parade from Greenlands in Basseterre to the Football Stadium in Warner Park. An entrance fee of $10.00 will be charged.
The primary purpose of the annual event is to foster camaraderie among staff of fellow Social Security institutions across the region. However, the event has tremendous value for tourism in the respective host countries.
